BOOK REVIEW
Book Review was born with the branch in 1950. It meets each month except in July at 2:00-4:00PM on the third Monday of the month.
The meetings are held at the homes of members, and the hostess provides dessert. Ten books, fiction or non-fiction, for the following year are selected at a special meeting in June.
Members often dress in costumes related to the topic of the book being reviewed. This is optional, but adds to the fun.
WALKABOUTS
Relax, connect and start the day with a breath of fresh air on our early-morning “Walkabouts”, featuring various parks and trails in the Antelope Valley. This is a great opportunity to get to know other AAUWAV members while experiencing our community’s unique history, flora and fauna. All walks are EASY and informative, and last about 45 minutes. Usually one of us serves coffee and a snack “tailgate style” after the walk. The walks are scheduled on the second Tuesday morning of the month at 7:30am. New members and potential new members are most welcome on the Walkabouts. Bring a buddy!
OTHER INTEREST GROUPS are expected to start again post-COVID.
